AUDIBLES WITH CBS SPORTS' LEAD COLLEGE FOOTBALL ANALYST Gary DanielSON

(On Missouri QB Corbin Berkstresser)
When you are young in any job, especially in athletics, you're not encumbered by the problems or the disasters of your past. A lot of quarterbacks remember throwing interceptions, and that inhibits them and makes them gun-shy. The great ones don't let it bother them. The only way Missouri will be able to move the ball is by getting a hot quarterback, making completions and frustrating Alabama with a lot of short throws, forcing the Tide's defense to do too much and blitz more than they want to. That is possible. Many sports stories are just like that.

(On South Carolina-LSU game)
This match-up for LSU is one that they relish. Coming off of last week's game, they needed an imposing foe to get their attention right away and especially at night in Death Valley. LSU has come to the crossroads. They've lost some playmakers, are having trouble on the offensive line and are just not able to come up with enough impact plays. Zach Mettenberger has not earned the respect of the play caller or the head coach so far. They're going to be forced to use him more, give him more opportunities to make big plays, thus more opportunities to make bad plays. There is no way around it now. They do have a match-up that should give South Carolina the most trouble. The Gamecocks want to rush the pass, not stop the run. And they'll be challenged by a balance to do both.
