Studio One Media, Inc. (OTCBB: SOMD) today announced the opening of its newest MyStudio® HD Recording Studio located at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas. The opening is in conjunction with the launch of the Las Vegas auditions for season two of Simon Cowell's THE X FACTOR. The Planet Hollywood location joins MyStudio locations in Honolulu, Phoenix, Nashville, New Jersey, Los Angeles, and New England. The X Factor auditions at all locations are scheduled through April 15th.
"There is no better place on the Las Vegas Strip to host THE X FACTOR auditions than at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino, where 'fame sets the scene,'" said David Hoenemeyer, President of Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino. "We are thrilled to welcome MyStudio to Planet Hollywood and to host the auditions for season two of this exciting show. Who knows, maybe someday, the winner of 'The X Factor' will perform on stage right here at Planet Hollywood."
"Having the ability to partner with a world class entertainment venue such as the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino affirms our belief in the marketability and adaptability of the technology which we have created. I look forward to the continued roll out of studios nationally, utilizing our revised business model of partnering with destination entertainment venues such as the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino," said Frank Perrotti, Chairman of Studio One Media, Inc.
The X Factor is expanding its audition process to reach even more singers than any talent show ever before in its search to find the best new solo artists and vocal groups in America through its partnership with MyStudio. Anyone 12 years old or older will have the opportunity to use the state-of-the-art studios to record their a cappella audition video and state why they think they have what it takes to be the next $5 million recording contract winner. MyStudio allows X Factor hopefuls the opportunity to record a high quality audition video in a private recording studio environment.
Vocalists will also be able to view their audition video and submit it directly into the competition right at the studio. MyStudio recording engineers are available at each location to assist with all aspects of the audition and submission process. MyStudios will be open for auditions an average of 11 hours a day for several weeks, allowing performers time to practice and plan for their auditions around work and school schedules.
The MyStudio-X Factor finalists will advance directly to a "Judges Audition" round where they will perform live before Simon Cowell and The X Factor judges and a studio audience of thousands. Many X Factor finalists were discovered last season through MyStudio auditions including Simon Cowell's top three girl finalist "Drew."
This fall's No. 1 unscripted series discovered such diverse recording artists as winner Melanie Amaro, and finalists Astro, Chris Rene, Josh Krajcik, Marcus Canty and Rachel Crow, who have all signed major deals with Sony Music.
