Lifetime explores the fast-changing landscape of teenage sexuality at a prestigious academy that was rocked by a shocking sex Scandal in the Lifetime Original Movie, Restless VIRIGINS, premiering Saturday,March 9 at 8pm ET/PT. Inspired by a true story and based on the New York Times best-selling book byAbigail Jones and Marissa Miley, the film stars Vanessa Marano (Switched at Birth), Max Lloyd-Jones (Supernatural), Charlie Carver (Desperate Housewives) and Emmy(R) Award winner Timothy Busfield (The West Wing).
Restless Virgins uncovers a world where privileged teens, thriving on exploitation and manipulation, run wild at a New England prep school. The film follows Emily (Marano), a scholarship student and the editor of the school newspaper who struggles with the daily stresses of high school and adolescence: fitting in, getting into the right college and trying to find love. But when Emily discovers five senior members of the lacrosse team made a sex tape with a classmate, she blows the lid off the controversy by releasing the tape virally. The Scandal made national headlines that shocked America, leading the elite school to expel multiple students, including a U.S. Senator's son.
Restless Virgins is produced by Scandal Street Productions for Lifetime. The film is executive produced by Michael Roiff (Waitress) and produced by Harvey Kahn (She Made Them Do It). Jason LaPeyre (I Declare War) directed the film from a script by Andrew Cochran (Adult World), based on a book by Abigail Jones and Marissa Miley.
