Tyne Daly to Star in CBS Comedy Pilot JACKED UP

Deadline reports that Tyne Daly is set to star in an upcoming CBS comedy pilot JACKED UP. The actress will join cast members Missi Pyle and Patrick Warburton on the project from Sony TV. Fred Savage will helm from a script by Greg Malins.

The comedy will follow Jack (Warburton), "a beloved, recently retired baseball player who sets out to find a new purpose in life...starting with finding a wife with the help of his energetic and lovable best friend Barry (Rob Huebel)." Daly will take on the role of Jack's mother.

Daly most recently appeared on Broadway and the West End in Master Class. She originated the role of Judy Steinberg in the world premiere production of It Shoulda Been You at George Street Playhouse. Her other theater credits include Rabbit Hole (Tony nom.); The Seagull; Gypsy (Tony, Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards); That Summer, That Fall. Off-Broadway/regional: The Butter and Egg Man (NY debut); Encores! Call Me Madam; Me, Myself and I; The Agamemnon; Queen of the Stardust Ballroom; Come Back, Little Sheba; Gethsemane Springs; The Three Sisters; Ashes; Oliver!; Mystery School; Love, Loss, and What I Wore.

Her TV credits include Georgia O'Keeffe; The Perfect Mother; Bye Bye Birdie; Kids Like Thes; The Entertainer; Larry; The Man Who Could Talk to Kids; Intimate Strangers (Emmy nom.). TV series: Judging Amy (Emmy); Christy (Emmy); Cagney & Lacey (four Emmys).
