VIDEO: DWTS' Host Brooke Burke-Charvet Reveals Thyroid Cancer

DANCING WITH THE STARS host Brooke Burke-Charvet took to YouTube yesterday to reveal to fans that she has been diagnosed with thyroid cancer. "I need to have a thyroidectomy, which means that I'm going to have a nice big scar right here across my neck," the 41-year-old shared. Check out the video below.

"I never ever ever thought I was going to get that phone call with bad news," said Charvet, referring to the news of the tiny nodule on her thyroid spotted during a routine physical. "I'm ready to deal with it, and I'm going to be fine."

According to the National Cancer Institute, more than 56,000 people are diagnosed with thyroid cancer each year in the U.S. but it is rarely fatal. "Doctors say this is a good kind of cancer to have," Burke-Charvet said in her video. "Good cancer - that sounds so crazy! But my doctor did tell me that this is a happily-ever-after kind of thing."
