McPhee placed #2 in Season Five of the reality series, ultimately losing out to champion Taylor Hicks. She went on to a successful solo pop career and currently stars on the NBC musical dramedy Smash.

This week on Idol, the remaining eight contestants paid tribute to "The Music of The Motor City," performing songs centered on the city of Detroit.
