Legendary talk show host David Letterman will be featured on OPRAH'S NEXT CHAPTER in a rare interview airing Sunday, January 6 from 9-10 p.m. ET/PT on OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network. Despite what's been said about the late-night wars of the past, talk show host David Letterman tells Oprah his rivalry with Tonight Show host Jay Leno did not start when Dave was passed over for Johnny Carson's old seat. Watch below as he reflects on his old friend and reveals why Jay is the funniest guy he's ever known.
"I've never met anyone quite like Jay. And I will say, and I'm happy to say, I think he's the funniest guy I've ever known. Just flat out," Letterman declares. "If you go and see him do his nightclub act -- just the funniest, the smartest, wonderful observationist and very appealing as a comic. Therefore, the fact that he is maybe the most insecure person I have ever known -- I could never reconcile that."
No question is off-limits as Letterman candidly speaks about the public sex scandal that rocked his marriage, his personal relationships with "Tonight Show" host Johnny Carson, how he repaired his marriage, his battle with depression.
