Darkhorizons reports that NBC has just closed a deal with Universal Television and Matchbox Pictures to adapt the multiple award-winning Austrailian miniseries THE SLAP for American TV. Jon Robin Baitz (Brothers & Sisters) will pen the U.S. adaptation. Check out the Aussie series below!
Based on Christos Tsiolkas's best-selling novel, The Slap is an eight-part drama series that traces the shattering repercussions of a single event upon a group of family and friends. It is a searing portrait of middle class life, and the mores and morality that shape modern, multicultural Australia. The series stars Jonathan LaPaglia, Melissa George, Alex Dimitriades, Essie Davis, Sophie Okonedo, Lex Marinos, Sophie Lowe, Blake Davis, Diana Glenn.
