Deadline reports that Warner Bros Studio has acquired Atlas Entertainment's yet to be titled film about the controversial doping scandal surrounding 7-time Tour de France champion Lance Armstrong and his teammates.

Jay Roach (HBO's Game Change, Recount) will direct from a script penned by Scott Burns. The package includes the life rights of cyclist Tyler Hamilton, a former professional bike racer who was in Armstrong's inner circle on the US Postal Service Team.

An Olympic gold medalist, Hamilton was one of the very first athletes to testify under oath against his former teammate. He also appeared in an in-depth interview on CBS's 60 Minutes, in which he revealed startling information about the extent of Armstrong's drug use.

As reported by Deadline in January, Paramount is also developing a movie about the disgraced bicycle racer, based on Cycle Of Lies: The Fall Of Lance Armstrong, a proposal for a book penned by NY Times sportswriter Juliet Macur for HarperCollins. Oscar nominee Bradley Cooper is reportedly in talks to portray Armstrong in the film.
