X FACTOR Update: Demi Lovato Signs On as Season 2 Judge

According to The Huffington Post, Demi Lovato has signed on to be a judge for THE X FACTOR Season 2 on when the show returns to the FOX network this fall.

Yesterday it was reported that the former Disney star was in final negotiations to join the judge's panel on the singing competition. Today, E! reports that sources have confirmed Lovato is officially on board. She will sit beside show creator Simon Cowell and music exec L.A. Reid.

Two judges' seats became vacant after the first season when judges Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger along with host Steve Jones were fired from the show. Since then, rumors have circulated as to who would take over at the judge's table. Among the rumored stars in consideration were Britney Spears, Fergie, LeAnn Rimes and Stacy Keibler. GLEE's  Darren Criss was reportedly offered the hosting position but turned it down. 

Neither the Fox network nor Simon Cowell has officially commented on the news.
