Featuring a memorable score by Irving Berlin and book by Howard Lindsay and Russel Crouse, Call Me Madam centers around a brassy ambassador to the fictional European nation of Lichtenberg.

The brevity of political satire's shelf life tends to rival that of a tray of supermarket eggs, but it seems one of the quips penned by Howard Lindsay and Russell Crouse for the book of their smash hit 1950 musical Call Me Madam is breathing in new life in the 21st Century.

Final casting for the Encores! production of Call Me Madam as part of City Center's 75th Anniversary Season has been announced. Jason Gotay (Kenneth Gibson), Darrell Hammond (Grand Duke Otto), and Randy Rainbow(Sebastian Sebastian), join the previously announced cast featuring Carmen Cusack, Ben Davis, Adam Heller, Carol Kane, Stanley Wayne Mathis, Brad Oscar, Michael Benjamin Washington, and Lauren Worsham.

New York City Center today announced casting for the Encores! production of Call Me Madam as part of the 75th Anniversary Season.

After popping open at The Davenport Theatre this fall, Popcorn Falls, written by James Hindman and directed by Christian Borle, in his New York directorial debut, will play its final performance on Sunday, November 25, producers Schondeikkan Productions and D.T.R. Productions announced today. Popcorn Falls will have played 28 previews and 56 performances.

Known for its illustrious Central Chamber Series, Central Presbyterian Church (593 Park Avenue) is proud to announce the addition of its Central Theatrical Series. The series will present material that explores the reality of the human condition and offers hope to a complex and challenging world.   Carolyn Rossi Copeland will serve as Artistic Producing Director and Breezy Wynn and Vance Thompson will serve as Executive Producers.

The new Off-Broadway comedy Popcorn Falls opened just last night, October 8, at the Davenport Theatre (354 W 45th Street). The production, written by James Hindman, is directed by two-time Tony Award winner Christian Borle, in his New York directorial debut. Popcorn Falls stars Adam Heller and Tom Souhrada, playing over twenty roles in under ninety minutes.

How many characters can you expect to see in a play set in a small town, on a small stage, with a cast of two? If you guessed two, you couldn't be more wrong. No, when it comes to Popcorn Falls, try ten times that.

We're meeting people all over the theatre scene in this episode. A Letter to Harvey Milk recently concluded it's Off-Broadway run, and I am sure it will become a regional staple.
