Stage West is promoting the work of local artists by featuring the work of Angela Sarabia for one weekend in May. The title of the psychological thriller play is 'Duress,' and performances will be Friday May 13, 2022 at 7:30pm, Saturday May 14, 2022 at 2pm, and Sunday May 15, 2022 at 2pm. The address of Stage West is 8390 Forest Oaks Blvd, Spring Hill, FL. Director is Paul Wade.

The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts announced the national awardees of the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival, which was held virtually in convenings for each discipline that began on March 8, 2021 and continued through May 22, 2021.

In order to graduate from Samford University as a theatre student, one must complete a final thesis called a “Catalyst project.” This year, two senior Theatre for Youth majors, Anna Johnson and Chloe Tower, teamed up to reach students on the other side of the world through their collaborative senior project.

HEADLESS - a modern gothic rock-opera ghost story that revisits author Washington Irving's The Legend of Sleepy Hollow from co-writers Bradley Bredeweg (Freeform's 'The Fosters,' Showtime's 'Intersection,' Bill Condon's Side Show on Broadway) and Brad Hooks (Freeform's 'The Fosters') - will be the focus of a new work development lab that will explore the score, story and new stage technology over the course of two and a half weeks at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts (The Wallis) in Beverly Hills. The lab will launch on Thursday, July 6 and will culminate with closed presentations today, July 22 and Sunday, July 23 (presentations by private invitation only).

Virginia Repertory Theatre made public additional titles for the 2017/18 Season today. "Announcing River Ditty and Fun Home simultaneously illuminates Virginia Rep's commitment to bold new work,' says Artistic Director, Nathaniel Shaw.  

'Things just aren't nice anymore.' People have different coping mechanisms for grief, a message that is profoundly on display in Cadence Theatre's production of David Lindsay Abaire's Pulitzer Prize-winning drama RABBIT HOLE. The show runs through May 20 at Virginia Repertory Theatre.

This is not the CINDERELLA from our childhood. Wise people reconfigured the fantasy tale into a lavish contemporary production that coalesced with gorgeous and stunning technical aspects that make this a memorable theatrical experience for any age.

You may think you know the story of CINDERELLA, but when the classic Rodgers and Hammerstein musical plays at the Palace Theater in Waterbury, you might find yourself pleasantly surprised. This updated version which recently closed an award-winning debut on Broadway will take the stage in Waterbury for four performances February 24 - 26. Playing the evil stepmother, Madame, will be Connecticut native, Sarah Primmer. I had the pleasure of speaking with Sarah and learning about her experience with this magical musical.

Rodgers & Hammerstein's CINDERELLA is a 2013 Tony Award winning stage adaptation of the 1957 musical for television starring Julie Andrews, with music by Richard Rodgers and lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II. The new book by Douglas Carter Beane is based partly on Hammerstein's original 1957 book. The piece was remade twice for television, once in 1965 and again in 1997, and was adapted for the stage in various versions prior to the 2013 Broadway adaptation. The 2013 score features several Rodgers and Hammerstein songs that weren't in any previous version, including one trunk song originally written for, but eventually cut from, South Pacific. The new songs include 'Me, Who Am I?', 'Now Is the Time', 'The Pursuit', 'Loneliness of Evening' and 'There's Music in You'.
