Showtime's Sunday night lineup returned last night, and to numbers bigger than ever.
Its three dramedies, SHAMELESS, HOUSE OF LIES, and Californication all broke their own viewership records, up from their previous premieres.
SHAMELESS, which returned or its third season, scored 2 million viewers, with its encore, its total for the night rose to 2.6 million. Last season's premiere scored 1.6 million.
Oscar-nominated William H. Macy and Emmy Rossum star in this fiercely engaging and fearlessly twisted new series. Chicagoan Frank Gallagher is the proud single dad of six smart, industrious, independent kids, who without him would be... perhaps better off.
HOUSE OF LIES, which previously premiered last January, was up 15 percent. It's premiere brought in 1.19 million viewers. With the episode's rebroadcast, the total rose to 1.59 million. Outrageous, subversive and wildly funny, House of Lies stars Academy Award nominee Don Cheadle and Kristen Bell.
Finishing out the night was CALIFORNICATION, now entering its sixth season. Breaking its previous series premiere record, the episode drew in 1.07 million.
The sixth season stars David Duchovny in his Golden Globe-winning role as hedonistic novelist Hank Moody. Moody continually struggles to be a good father to his college-aged daughter Becca (Madeleine Martin), while still carrying a torch for her mother, and his ex-girlfriend, Karen (Natascha McElhone).
