Next Fall tells the story of two men in a committed, long-term relationship and the family and friends that are an intrinsic part of their lives. This 2010 Tony Award-nominated play provides a deep examination of faith, commitment, unconditional love and hope. It challenges the audience to consider what it means "to believe" and what it can cost us if we don't. Next Fall runs from March 13 - April 6, 2013 at ArtsWest Playhouse and Gallery in West Seattle.
When a critical car accident befalls one of the men, long-time differences and opposing views on faith and family come into sharp focus. The storyline, which weaves between past and present, provides a rich exploration of the value, and the necessity, of living in the moment, as well as the myriad choices we make that define the course of our lives. NEXT FALL is a touching, witty and modern story that ponders difficult questions while allowing the audience to laugh and celebrate our humanity.
Next Fall is playwright Geoffrey Nauffts' first theatrical play, after several years of acting, directing and writing for theatre, film and television. A writer for the long-running ABC hit series, Brothers and Sisters, Nauffts is currently collaborating with Elton John on a score for Showstopper, a screenplay written for Ben Stiller's Production Company.
"Next Fall is a perfect show for a venue such as ArtsWest," notes Artistic Director Christopher Zinovitch. "This is a very personal, tight-focus play, and the intimacy of our performance space will create an intense emotional experience for the audience. Silences will be deafening, the tension electric."
