Equity actors for understudy roles in the Broadway production of THE ROOMMATE.
SHARON (50s-70s): CAST. A woman who has tried to do everything she was supposed to, and as a result has been greatly disappointed by her life. Good-natured, optimistic, and lonely, Sharon has a dark streak (and a sharp sense of humor) just below the surface. Hungry for change - eager to surprise herself - and ready to go too far.
ROBYN (50s-70s): CAST. A woman who is trying to transform herself at all costs. On the run from her life, Robin is secretive, aloof, and armored - an armor that shows itself in her quick wit and evasiveness. But underneath the armor is a tender heart and the desire to experience real connection with another human.

STORYLINE
Sharon’s never had a roommate before. In fact, there’s a lot Sharon’s never done before, but Robyn’s about to change all that. Jen Silverman’s THE ROOMMATE shatters expectations with its witty and profound portrait of a blossoming intimacy between two women from vastly different backgrounds, as they navigate the complexities of identity, morality, and the promise of reinvention. Being bad never felt so good as it does in this riveting one-act about second acts.
